Connectors

The Connectors option allows you to setup connections to different Liquit systems or third party applications.

You can add a new connector by clicking on the 'Add' button.

Liquit Workspace

This connector type allows you to setup a connection to another Liquit environment.

Attention

This type of connection is designed to work with the packages on the source system being in the Liquit content store.
If the packages on the source system utilize content on remote servers, be advised that this content will NOT be copied to the target system.

  • Name
    Friendly name for this connector how it will be known in the Liquit system.
  • Enabled
    Tick this box to enable this connector.
  • Method
    Can be either "on-demand" or "synchronized".

Enter your details and click 'Next' to continue.

On-demand options
The default package type when a on-demand method is chosen.

  • Default Package Type
    Choose the default value for the package types created by this connector, this can be overwritten per package.

Synchronize options
Enter the prefix added to the package when a synchronize method is chosen.

  • Package name prefix
    The prefix automatically added to packages from this connector

  • URL
    The remote URL on which the Liquit system that is to be connected can be reached from this Liquit server.
    Make sure to include a scheme (ie. https://my.liquit.domain).
  • Username
    Remote username
    Make sure to specify the Identity source as part of the username (ie. LOCAL\admin).
  • Password
    Password of remote admin user.

Tick the box and click on 'Finish' to immediately modify the connector we just created.

Click on 'Confirm' to start synchronizing resources.
After synchronization has completed, you can see all the available resources from the connected system and opt to create package for them.

Create a Package from a Resource

When selecting a resource and clicking on 'Create package' we are presented with the package creation form

  • Name
    A name for our package
  • Update existing Packages
    Tick this box to update an existing package that we might have synchronized earlier, or that has the same name.

Next up is the entitlement selection:

This lists the entitlements for package we are creating. You can utilize the search bar on top to quickly add identities to the list.

We add our admin user to the package we are creating. We then get presented with the entitlement form.
From here onwards, it's the same as creating a local package. Refer to the Packages documentation to learn more.

Citrix StoreFront

This connector type allows you to setup a connection to a Citrix StoreFront environment. You will be able to import applications which are normally accessible via Citrix StoreFront.

Add the Citrix StoreFront server
The settings for the Citrix StoreFront connector

  • URL
    The URL on which the Citrix StoreFront can be found.
  • Integration
    Choose whether you want to use the basic integration with Citrix StoreFront or the enhanced version.
  • Username
    Username to connect to this server.
  • Password
    Password of this user.

Attention

The enhanced version of the Citrix connector requires you to install dependencies on the StoreFront server. You can download these here.
The contents of the .zip archive should be placed in the root of the Citrix StoreFront web interface.
(C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\StoreWeb by default).

Microsoft Print Server

This connector type allows you to setup a connection to a Microsoft Print Server to utilize the printers configured on that server.

Microsoft RDS

This connector type allows you to setup a connection to a Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) host to consume the applications defined there.

Liquit Setup Store

This connector type allows you to retrieve managed and unmanaged packages from the Liquit Setup Store Server, this is a powerful solution for Setup and Patch Management.

  • Method
    A Liquit Setup Store connection is always on-demand.

Enter your desired friendly name and click 'next'

Note

Only managed packages receive automatic updates.

  • Default package type
    A managed package will always retain package information from the setup store, when ever filters or actions need to changed the package will become unmanaged. Managed packages have the advantage to receive automatic updates from the Liquit Setup Store.

    Choose which installers will be accessible filtered by targeted platform.
  • Language Choose which installers will be accessible filtered by language.

Tick the box and click on 'Finish' to immediately modify the connector we just created. After these steps, you can see all the available resources from the connected system and opt to create package for them.

Automatically check for updates

To automatically check for updates and to receive a notification when updates are available.
A scheduled task has to be created for the Setup Store connector, where you can specify when to check for changes and where to send e-mail notifications too. Optionally you can supply to download or immediately apply the updates.
